What fire safety software should do
A fire risk assessment is only as good as what a stranger can rely on in it — a fire officer, an insurer, a new managing agent, a tribunal. Fire safety software earns its place when it makes that reliance safe:
- Every finding tied to a requirement. The Fire Safety Order, a standard or published guidance, named at the question it answers.
- What was seen kept apart from what was assumed. What was inspected, what was not accessible, and what would settle each assumption.
- Actions a contractor can price. Specific to the building, with evidence attached, and tracked after the report is published.
- History that survives. The record, the log and the open actions carry forward to the next review and to the next managing agent.
Blaze Squad Ltd builds two connected apps to do that: Fire Suite Pro for the fire risk assessor, and Fire Passport for the Responsible Person or managing agent who runs the building.
Fire Suite Pro — fire risk assessment software for iPad
One building file feeds every tool: capture the property once, then assess, survey and report against it.
FRA Pro
Structured fire risk assessments with statutory and guidance citations attached to every question. The first pathway covers purpose-built residential blocks of flats, with sheltered housing, specialised housing and further premises types in build.
Door Pro
Per-door fire door inspections — specification, gaps, seals, closers and condition — feeding door findings back into the fire risk assessment.
CS Pro
Compartmentation surveys: compartment walls, floors and doors, the service penetrations through them and the linear gaps between them. Failed checks write the remedial actions, with photographic evidence, and open defects carry forward to the next visit.
Strategy Pro
Retrospective fire strategies for existing residential buildings — the evacuation policy, the safeguards it requires, and the specification the building must satisfy to support it.
HRB Pro
Height and storey assessments, with a chartered building surveyor’s briefing note on galleries, mezzanines, storey counts and height, and the client’s signed instruction kept for six years.
PPM Pro
Five-year planned maintenance programmes for blocks of flats, re-issued each year from the last with the work done marked off and the rest re-priced.
FIV Pro
Fire insurance valuations — reinstatement cost assessments under the RICS guidance note, brought up to the latest Retail Prices Index in one press.
Publishing
Client-ready PDF reports with flowing findings, photographic evidence, a signed publication record and an editable post-publication action tracker.
Fire Passport — free fire safety software for Responsible Persons
The app the Responsible Person or managing agent runs for themselves. Free for managers, and in open testing now.
- The Management Log. Every recurring duty the building carries — fire, water, electrical, gas, lifts, structure, grounds and insurance — on its required cadence, with the evidence attached.
- Delegated checks. Assign a check to a caretaker, a contractor or a member of staff by email; they log the completion, with a certificate where there is one.
- Duty communications. The information the Fire Safety Order requires you to give residents and other Responsible Persons, issued with a record of who received and confirmed it.
- The building record. Held once, kept current, reused by every assessment the building has, and transferred whole when the building changes hands.
- Contractors and tenders. A Contractor Library, sealed tender returns and section 20 consultation notices built from the 2003 Regulations.
How the two connect
The manager completes the building record in Fire Passport and instructs the assessment from it. The record, the certificates on file and the Management Log’s history land in the assessor’s Fire Suite Pro inbox and prepopulate the building file. The finished assessment files itself back into the building’s documents the day it is published. One route, so every report arrives complete and where it can be found.
Pricing
Per use, not per seat and not per building per month. Credits are £1 each and are charged when a document is published: a fire risk assessment is 25 credits, a compartmentation survey 15, a fire door survey 1 per door. Fire Passport is free for managers, and its Management Log stays free while the building’s assessment is published through Fire Suite Pro. Full price list →
